To promote the Cycling made e-asy programme, the UK offers free e-bike loans in pilot areas

To advocate for residents to try e-riding and encourage people to actively go out, the UK has launched cycling made e-asyprogram, which starts this year until 2023, and provides free e-bike loan services in various pilot areas.

The Department for Transport has invested more than £8 million in this project, and the purpose of their investment in this project is to make e-bikes available to those who would not ordinarily choose or have access to cycling as a mode of transportation. This allows Cycling UK to expand the unique electric bike pilot program, which is being launched in five locations throughout England, beginning with Greater Manchester.

In addition, with the help of an experienced coalition of industry partners, Cycling UK will provide free e-bike loans for up to three months.

They will give local communities access to e-bikes, especially modified e-bikes, for transportation.

By working with underrepresented groups, Riding UK understands the difficulties, problems, and prejudices that might discourage individuals from attempting cycling. This initiative seeks to refute common beliefs about e-bikes and raise knowledge about them. E-bikes allow individuals of all ages to pedal with assistance, making hills and travels simpler.

In each trial area, e-bikes will be accessible at hubs. The initiative will be implemented through Evans Cycles locations, local community areas, chosen companies, and educational settings.

This e-bike initiative is part of the Prime Minister's ambitious Cycling and Walking Plan (Gear Change) to increase riding and walking, with a goal of cycling or walking 50% of all journeys in towns and cities by 2030.

Cycling UKs chief executive Sarah Mitchell said:"At Cycling UK, we realize that for many individuals, taking the initial step to start cycling is a difficult challenge. This initiative will provide people with access to an e-bike without any barriers, allowing them to make substantial improvements in their travel patterns."

Cycling minister Trudy Harrison said:"The £8 million we have allocated for this programme will assist in making cycling the natural first option for many trips - a crucial Government promise from the Prime Minister's Walking and Cycling Strategy."

The programme will begin in Manchester in May 2022 as the first of the pilot areas, with a high-profile media launch event. Users will be able to enroll in the scheme on the Cycling UK website from May 12, 2022, or through walk-ins at designated community centers.
